A Culinary Journey
Melissa Perry was a Senior Food Editor for Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia, where her recipes appeared in print, radio, and television. After Leaving Martha Stewart, she went on to work with country music legend Trisha Yearwood on her two best-selling cookbooks. Her recipes have also appeared in Gourmet Magazine, Everyday with Rachael Ray, The Food Network Magazine, as well as The Food Network Show, Trisha’s Southern Kitchen.
My Story
A graduate of The Institute Of Culinary Education in Manhattan, New York, Melissa went on to work as Garde Manger at Tom Colicchio’s flagship restaurant Craft. After relocating to Winter Park, Melissa began work on a cookbook for Bern’s Steakhouse in Tampa, Florida that can be found in each of Bern’s Hotel rooms. She spent the next couple of years as a personal chef for multiple families in Winter Park. Whether Melissa is planning menus for an event, private cheffing for families, or developing recipes for editorial content, she approaches each recipe as if she was cooking for her own family. Her menus and recipe development depend upon the availability of quality ingredients during that specific season. With more than 25 years in the hospitality/food industry, the inspiration to create “Small Gatherings” came from watching the enjoyment people get from interactive cooking. She is a chef, passionate about creating a dining experience that makes memories
